Past Performances Throughout the Years

The Souris Valley Theatre has developed a reputation for professional live theatre productions, often with a Saskatchewan flavour and historical perspective.  Over the theatre's nineteen year history, past productions have included:
 
"Volstead Blues", a depiction of Estevan as an active rum running centre during prohibition.  This production ran from 1990 - 1994 and made a come back in 1997.
 
"Ranchers & Rustlers", a Wild West tale of pioneer life on the prairies.  This production ran in 1994 -1995 and made a come back in 2004.
 
"Chokecherry Wine", a Saskatchewan ethnic experience including the Ukrainian wedding finale.
 
"Ranchers & Rustlers II", the sequel to the very popular Ranchers & Rustlers.
 
"Saskatoon Pie", a very witty musical romp that effectively satirizes politicians, journalists, and feminists in the early days of Saskatchewan's existence.
 
"Souris Valley Jamboree", lighthearted music and comedy based on life in the local campground.
 
"The Amorous Flea", based on Moliere's " School of Wives"
 
"Don't Touch that Dial", a lighthearted farce that explores relationships among staff members of a radio station in a time of crisis.
 
"Prairie Lilies", based on the history of the flight training school based in Estevan during World War II.
 
"Forever Plaid", a well-known musical hit.
 
"The Last Resort" a Canadian musical comedy mystery, set in Saskatchewan full of fun and suspense

"Calamity Jane", a tale of the wild west, filled with action, asong and laughter.
 
"Cocktails for Two Hundred", a glamorous and witty woman uses her wiles on an unsuspecting man.
 
"Nunsense", a fund raiser put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury sisters poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia.
 
"Discovering Elvis", four Elvis impersonators perform in the first round of a competition full of comedy and intrigue, with hopes of moving on to a final showdown in Las Vegas.
 
"Ranchers & Rustlers", return performance of the ever popular Wild West spoof filled with action, song and laughter.
 
"High Spirits", the wife of a former wife wreaks hilarious havoc in this musical adaptation of Noel Cowards' well-known comedy "Blithe Spirit"
 
"Dandelions & Grasshoppers", three generations of women examine their lives in Saskatchewan over the past 100 years.
 
"The Big Ruckus of '56", the birth of Rock and Roll hits small town Saskatchewan in 1956.
 
"The Saturday Night Club", Through laughter, great songs and memories, homage is paid to the soldiers of World War II and the women who loved them and became the war brides of Canada. 
 
"A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline", Take a walk down memory lane with the queen of country music.  This toe tapping musical offers a magical evening with humour and great music for audiences of all ages. 
 
"Billy Bishop Goes to War" by John Gray. A dynamic play offering insights into the mindset of Canadian daredevil Flying Ace of WWI. With song, wit and poignant observations, the play takes you on a journey of a naive small town Canadian boy who signs up for the army and ends up discovering his exceptional gift as a fighter pilot.
 
"A Grand Time in the Rapids" by Stewart Lemoine. A screwball comedy with Thalia, a recent widow and expert on public speaking, setting the plot in motion by writing as etiquette columnist, asking her to sit in on a difficult conversation she plans on having with her new suitor.
 
"Chaps!" by Jahnna Beecham & Malcolm Hillgartner. When famous performers fail to show up for a live radio broadcast, the staff fills in with riotous results.
 
"Jasper Station" by Norm Foster. Six travellers wait in a train station in Jasper, Alberta hoping to fulfill their dreams at the  end of the line.
